Joanna trained at Salford University where she graduated with a BA (Hons) in Media and Performance; she also studied Intensive Meisner at The Actors Temple, London.
Theatre includes: Claudia in Elegies for Punks, Angels and Raging Queens (West End), Mother and Ensemble in The Railway Children (No.1 Tour), Character 2 in Jack (Edinburgh Fringe First Winner) and Barbara Steiner in the Bolton Octagon R&D project for The Book Thief.
Joanna most recently travelled to Japan to film the second instalment of the live action acclaimed Manga series ‘The Silent Service’ playing the role of Commander Kelly J. Nelson, the only English speaking female role. Due for cinematic release September 2025.
Other film credits include 97 Minutes and The Bromley Boys.
On television, Joanna has appeared in Meet The Richardsons for Dave TV (S3 - Phil’s New Girlfriend), Andy and The Band for CBeebies (S3 - The Mechanic), and on Emmerdale as Dr Ross (ITV). She was also on Saturday Night Takeaway as an undercover prank actor as well as Channel 4’s The Bulls**t Detective.
When not filming or in the theatre, Joanna works regularly as a corporate role-play actor for The Ministry Of Justice.
She is a proud Mummy to rescue dog babies Hope and Barry and wishes to thank husband Liam who is currently off-tour looking after them, while she appears in Doc Doc!
